Gemini: A mystery girl

One body, two souls ...                                           Chapter-01

Her eyes were always vigilantly charming. Some Days she looks like an adorable queen, while some days she behaves like possessed by an unheeded parasite.

What he can hardly recall was in his early life as a kid probably in the year 1999.

It was a very old day, she was in her 9th standard when she vanished from the school ecosystem but she was someone impossible to forget for him. Despite being nobody to anybody in the school atmosphere she managed to stun everyone with her annual performance and attentiveness to the school's calendar.

She used to sit at the backbenches despite being moderate in height. Which was against the school's low books on the sitting management of students. The teachers never pose her a single question, still, everyone in the classroom looks back to her with the crux for learning the right answer to unanswered questions. But in a while, as she finishes her right answer the students at along make their heads straight again to the teacher, and the entire classroom switch over into deeper silence.

And the same procedure makes its return to the classroom the next day. But nobody ever dared to thumbs up the desk to her brilliance.

But why now her memories suddenly flashed up to his memory. Who was she and most importantly who is he? Was he ever connected to her?

Suddenly he could hear a loud angry voice the bizarre sound of a hammer. A man dressed in a khaki uniform knocked at his door. And before he could regain his conscience that man was stridently loud; while continuously banging on the iron grill. Hey, another son of the grave wake up you have to go.

It was almost impossible for him to wake up to his call immediately. But the man shouted again; are you alive? How many times you have been told to not take too much of these intoxicants? Are you alive or dead? Hey bloody Willian, respond to me. Will you open the grill or do I have to break it. Someday I will be fired from the job only because of you.

Willian now woke up hoveringly to that man's threatening call and said sir, sir, I am okay. I am alive. Wait; wait coming to the door.

He now regained his memory from the highly intoxicated drugs and can remember that he is a prisoner in the central jail. The person knocking on the grill is the warden of that prison.

Attaining to Willian's voice a relaxed warden now rested for a while and said thank god you are alive. No need to open the grill. Just report to the office within half an hour. The jailor sir has called on you.

After the warden's departure, a disturbed Willian was submerged in further worry. Why the Jailer wants to meet me this time. What is the time now? He looked at the wall. It was 7 PM. He whispered to himself, is he going to punish me for violating the prison rule again by taking smuggled intoxicants and not attaining to any service?

Meanwhile, another prisoner friend of Willian came in to inquire about his health. As he said he is being laid down and intoxicated for two days. I tried to wake you up but you didn't respond, so I informed the Jailer about your health.

Before he could get angry at his friend the warden came in again and instructed him not to worry about the intoxication as he had not informed the Jailer about it. He has called on you for some other reason.

The warden continued, the Jailer has left for now for some important work and only returns after 9 P.M. So you can finish your dinner till that time while strictly instructing Smoky to take care of Willian.

A calm Willian now relaxed for a while and said on seeing his friend's face Smoky', she is not going to let me live in peace. What wrong did I do to her? Why is she after my life? Why am I sensing her again and again? Here and there whenever I go she follows me like a shadow.

I had even seen her in the courtroom. She was looking straight at my face. It was the same black and grey eyes I had seen somewhere very closely.

To which his friend Smoky, replayed who, that mystery girl? Have you seen her dreams again? Willian; not dreams, bad dreams. She will not leave me alone. What she wants. Why is she appearing in my dreams again and again?

Smoky, there is nothing like this. It is only due to the heavy dose of intoxicants you are taking regularly. I will not give those to you anymore.

Smoky is a drug leader who has been convicted of 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by the federal court. But his conviction has no such impact on his business. He is an expert in running these illegal trades from behind the curtain. In fact, he is in charge of all the illegal drug imports and circulation within the jail. That is the reason he is fondly called "Smoky" by his jail inmates.

But Smokey's words did not have any ramifications on Willian's mind. He was feeling nervous and inundated in deep thought again.

Smoky, hey Willian what are you thinking again? Believe me, there is nothing like this as you are saying. Years have passed, you are with me and we are in this cell. Has anyone ever come to meet you? You have nobody rather than me. You know it. It has been 5 years since we have been together. But before Smoky could finish his round of questions to him he replayed hurriedly in an astonishing word “nobody”?  And kept uttering the same word again and again. His weird reaction tied the tongue of Smoky. But he continued his utterance.

Willian to smoky, believe me, I have not murdered that officer. It was someone else.

Willian again repeated in sorrow belief in me, Smoky', I have not murdered anyone. It was someone looking like a mysterious girl who fled away that night. She was dressed like a fighter with full black leather garments warped up from foot to neck. She wore many lethal weapons like ornaments throughout her body. She was as thin as air. She was invisible to the eyes. But her eyes had a peculiar spark. It is reminding me of something which I had sensed from the nearest. But what is it? One thing I can't forget is her eyes. Why did she look at me with such caution? She could have killed me as well but she stopped and looked back at me. Sometimes I  feel like she wanted to communicate something with me. She doesn't escape in front of my eyes but vanishes like cold air and I can't catch her. Her face was covered in a mask.

I don't know why I am feeling like I have seen her somewhere before. If I would have been a painter I could have painted an exact picture of her. But nobody listened to my voice. Nobody believed in my word and I am being prosecuted because of her sin.

But after listening to him for a few seconds, Smoky can't stop his tears from flowing down from his eyes. Smoky, while revisiting Willian's earlier words; is an orphan whose life journey began growing up in the basement of numerous cities. He has no one to look after him. He has to change cities in search of work. He used to work as a manual labourer and roam here and there in his free time. He never believes in a fixed address as he thinks this soil is only his permanent shelter and the open sky is his guardian forever. But it is his innocent eyes that convey a different story about his life. His activities sometimes reveal that he has an unspoken agenda to he had not revealed to anyone.

What is it? Is he lying or pretending to be mad to get some relief from the trial at the earliest. No, I can't doubt such an honest friend like him. He is living in so much pain. He has nobody and no one came in search of him in these long years so why should he lie. He might be forgetting something. I have to find it out.

Before he could further continue his investigations, the night bail rang on. Smoky, Willan, let's have dinner. I am hungry and you have also not eaten anything for two days. So let's have dinner now. We will discuss this further on this. I believe in you.

Smokey and Willan left for dinner. Smoky to Willian. Willian, do you believe in destiny? Willian, No! Smoky, that is the mistake you are making. You need to believe in it unless you can't live up to the expectations this life has on you.

Willian, I can't understand your words. What do you mean? Smoky', Willian look I have everybody and everything in life but despite that, I am with you in this jail. Some people are viewing it as hell so they are dying to be freed. But to me, it is like a home and I am living it to the fullest.

Willian, Smoky that because you know someday you will be freed. You know one day and once again you will be able to meet your family. You will be able to embrace the sunrise, the sunset, the free air, and this beautiful nature.

But these are not realities for me. I don't know what will happen to me in the next hearing. I am unlike a dead animal from the inside when I recall the council's argument for bestowing me with the death penalty. Willian broke down again.

Smoky to Willian. Willian, you have to be courageous. You have to fight it all but you are not alone. I am with you. Do you know why you have been placed next to my cell? Willian', no. Smoky, yeah, that's destiny. Willian' how and what relationship it has with my suffering.?

Smoky, wait let me elaborate. Who am I? Willian' is a very good friend, unlike a caring brother. Smoky, so who am I to the rest of the world? How do this state and this jail view me? A confused Willian' exactly no idea. Smoky, think and answer me. Willian' may be a criminal. Smoky, is not a normal criminal. They view me as a hardcore criminal. That is the reason they have kept me in a specific cell. Why? Willian, still I have no idea. Smoky, to observe me better. But why have they put you in those same parameters? Just next to me.

A jilted William; Smoky can't exactly understand you. Smoky while looking at Willian's face can't exactly? That means you have some understanding, tell me that. Willian, oh no nothing, I can't reply to you anything.
